I am new to vidding and have been using DVD Shrink to reauthor scenes from my movies, but I have come up against some newer disks that DVD Shrink can't analyze/rip. So I got a trial version of DVDFab 8 on a suggestion from someone in the community.

I was able to rip the movie I'm working on, but I'm having trouble reauthoring specific scenes using the trial version, and I can't find the correct tutorial that deals with this. I would appreciate any tips from people more familiar with this program. Also, I see the program slaps a logo on the ripped files every couple of minutes... any way to get rid of that? (I suspect I just have to buy the real program to keep it from doing that.)

If not, any better reauthoring programs you can suggest? ^___^ Thank you so much!

Some of my vids were made on Corel Video Studio and some on Sony Vegas, but I wanted to put them on a DVD to play on TV, so I loaded them all into Sony Vegas and burned the DVD.

The ones I'd made in Sony Vegas were in 4:3 aspect ratio and all came out okay when played from the DVD.

Most of the ones I'd made in Corel Video Studio were also in 4:3, but when burned using Sony Vegas they all appeared stretched laterally when I played the DVD - ie. everyone's faces etc. were too wide.

A couple made in Corel were in 16:9 (not sure why) and these came out okay or perhaps slightly too tall on the DVD - this seems even more crazy.

Any idea what is going on?

ratings seems to be relatively good, so if you don't have a DVD ripper yet, or still have those DVD players, that do not play divx/avi data files, or need a converter:

Hi, does anyone have any ideas on how to convert "pando" files so that I can burn them to DVD? The files are named as such:

johndoe.pdtv.xvid-fov
johndoe.pdtv.xvid-sfm
johndoe.pdtv-lol

I can play the files just fine, but I can't burn them to dvd in the format they are in. I have Dvd Architect, Nero, and Roxio and none will take them as is. I've tried different ways to convert them to Mpeg-2 or .wmv, or regular .avi , but nothing works. I've tried opening them in the following programs with no luck:

Virtual Dub Mod
DvdSanta
Avi2Dvd
Sony Vegas
TmPGEnc dvd
Divx converter
Avidemux 2.4
Auto Gordianknot

I've also tried changing the file names, getting rid of the divx codec and then trying to import in Vegas and Vdub mod (some site suggested it).

I have googled and read forums and help sites until I'm blue in the face. I wholly admit I really don't know what I'm doing - I had never even heard of pando before. I'd appreciate any help or directions to additional help sites. Thank you!

I've searched the memories and as many how-to guides as I can find, but I haven't seen anything to help me with a problem I'm having. So, I would greatly appreciate any assistance on this topic.

I have a vid done in Windows Movie Maker. I'd like to submit to Escapade, but the instructions are as good as Greek to me. Can anyone help me figure out what I need to do to change the file to meet these requirements?

Electronic Submission:

1. Your vid should be submitted as two separate files: A video file encoded in MPEG-2, at 720x480 full-screen resolution, NTSC, using a 5500-6500 kpbs bitrate, and saved with an "m2v" suffix, and an audio file encoded at 48kz in WAV or AIFF format.
2. Each vid must have 10-30 seconds of silent black space at the beginning and end.
3. Use the following naming convention:

vidpriority_yourname_songtitle.{wav,m2v}
(Note: leave out spaces, all punctuation and special characters)

Example:
The files for the first-priority vid submitted by vidder Super-Amazing Vidder!! to the song I'm A Little Teapot would be named:
1_superamazingvidder_imalittleteapot.m2v
1_superamazingvidder_imalittleteapot.wav

When I look at the saving options for WMV, these are my options. I have no clue if any of those match up with the requirements above:

Any advice or easy answer?

Thanks!
