I am new to vidding and have been using DVD Shrink to reauthor scenes from my movies, but I have come up against some newer disks that DVD Shrink can't analyze/rip. So I got a trial version of DVDFab 8 on a suggestion from someone in the community.

I was able to rip the movie I'm working on, but I'm having trouble reauthoring specific scenes using the trial version, and I can't find the correct tutorial that deals with this. I would appreciate any tips from people more familiar with this program. Also, I see the program slaps a logo on the ripped files every couple of minutes... any way to get rid of that? (I suspect I just have to buy the real program to keep it from doing that.)

If not, any better reauthoring programs you can suggest? ^___^ Thank you so much!

Have you tried using DVDFab to copy the whole DVD to hard drive, then using DVD Shrink to read the DVD folder instead of reading the DVD?

No, no. You copy the DVD whole with DVDFab so you get VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. The AUDIO_TS folder should be empty. Then with DVD Shrink, click the "Open Files" button instead of "Open Disc" button, and click the name of the folder that contains your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. It should then read like a regular DVD.
