This is using a different set of DVDs from Canada, with husband digitizing the episodes closer to the original files. The result is MUCH brighter and more vivid than the other videos we've done. New mp4 videos are going up using the Maine Concepts H.265 codec. An mp2 version of the older DS carol, "It's the Most Wonderful Time", will be accessible within an hour from this posting.

Paul is planning to migrate our site to a new computer in the very near future. We'll be moving from one dedicated machine in a backroom in Connecticut to another located somewhere I know not. Its claim to fame is that it has MUCH more storage space and bandwidth, as well as being less expensive! It has so much that Paul believes I can put up every one of our almost 500 videos in both mp2 and mp4. A staggering thought. Assuming that's the case, it's still going to take a while to upload so many videos, but I do take requests.

What happens when a vidder vids something completely opposite of what they were intending? Does vidder's intent really matter? When doesn't it matter?

Origins and Evolution of "Better Off": A Vid Case Study is a commentary-analysis that examines these questions that I wrangled with when I completed my second vid, a due South vid, in the late spring of 2007. I chronicle my journey from being excited about the vid, to being surprised by the interpretation of my beta, to my frustration and confusion of where I went "wrong" in the vidding process. I included links to the "final" version of the vid as well as a link to the very first draft. It's also a sober reflection on looking back to where I was as vidder 6 months ago with the knoweldge and experience that I have now.
