Okay, a lack of creative inspiration has actually inspired me to go back and re-work my older vids...replace the clips with better ones, get rid of the 'talking heads,' find more appropriate effects or transitions...that sort of thing.  And, it's actually coming along pretty well.  So far, I've gotten seven vids 'upgraded' to their newer, shinier selves...five QAF and two Torchwood.  So, take a look and tell me if you think this project is time well spent, or a waste of time and energy.  :-) (Last multi-vid post, I swear.  From now on, I will post them one at a time, as they're completed.)

Title:  I'd Come For You
Subject: Brian & Justin
Song:  I'd Come For You by Nickelback
Description:  Seeing as how I took my favorite Nickelback love song at the time, "Far Away," and made a Jack/Ianto video out of it, it only seemed appropriate that my new favorite Nickelback love song, "I'd Come For You," and apply it to my original OTP. This song just seems only too perfect to represent dear Brian's thoughts about one Justin Taylor. It's sweet, honest, even a bit romantic but at the same time, it's not so over-the-top sappy that Brian comes across sounding like a big, giggly girl (or as he would say, a lesbian.) It's got angst, romance, self-doubt, and an honest assessment of what this little blonde twink has come to mean to the hard-hearted Stud of Liberty Avenue. All in all, a little bit of everything.

Title: I Am What I Am
Subject:  Emmett Honeycutt
Song: I Am What I Am by John Barrowman
Description
:  Here's the third video in my revamping lineup. Enjoy! Is there really a better song for the oh-so-fabulous Emmett Honeycutt? I mean, really? Hearing this song always reminds me of just how much courage it takes to be who you were born to be, and despite a bit of a lapse in Season 1, Emmett has always done what it takes to be true to himself. If only we were all so brave...

Okay, here's revamped vid number two...

Title:  Maybe It's Me
Subject:  Brian & Justin
Song:  Maybe It's Me by Ingram Hill
Description:  Ever wonder why Brian Kinney tries so hard to hang on to his reputation? Why he's willing to let it cost him everything and everyone that means anything to him? Maybe because when he looks in the mirror, he doesn't think the guy he sees looking back is all he's cracked up to be...Maybe that 'oh-so-important' reputation makes that fact just that much easier to bear...

Okay, here's the deal.  My vidding muse has taken a bit of a vacation, so I've decided that to avoid that vidding withdrawal that I tend to go through, I'm going to go back and revamp my older vids.  So, here's the first one...

Title:  Colourblind
Subject:  Brian & Justin
Song:  Colourblind by Darius
Description:  As much as he tries to fight it, when Justin's around, Brian becomes blind to everything else...

Series: Queer as Folk

Title: Kinneysis

Music: "Incognito" by Enigma

Description: Promiscuous sex, recreational drug use and wild dance clubs...the sleazier sides of the men of this beautiful, sexy series, led down the road to sin by Liberty Avenue's ultimate playboy, Brian Kinney.

Notes: WARNING FOR GRAPHIC SEXUAL CONTENT. This is all about the music, the motion and the fun.

Series: Queer as Folk

Title: Unconditional

Music: "What About Now" by Daughtry

Description: Series overview looking at the central characters, the world that they live in and their ever-evolving relationships as they fight to find happiness and stand together against discrimination, hate crimes and injustice. No matter what happens, no matter what their differences, this unlikely family always comes through for each other in the end, in it together through the good and the bad.

Notes: This is one of my all-time favorite series so I pretty much cut out my heart and bled all over the timeline to make this. To me, the strength of the show was always the heart and emotion behind it, the diverse characters and the realism and sincerity of their stories and relationships, so that's what I was aiming to capture here.

Here are the last three vids in my portfolio...from here on out they get posted as they get made.  Thanks for putting up with me and my weekly posts.  Enjoy, guys!!

Title:  I Am What I Am
Song Artist:   John Barrowman
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary:  Is there really a better song for the oh-so-fabulous Emmett Honeycutt?  Hearing this song always reminds me of just how much courage it takes to be who you were born to be, and despite a bit of a lapse in Season 1, Emmett has always done what it takes to be true to himself. If only we were all so brave...
Warnings:  Not a whole lot of warning-worthy stuff here, except the male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit
Notes:   In my humble opinion, there is a tragic lack of Emmett fabulousness throughout the QAF vid world. Well, here's my contribution to this too often overlooked little darling.

Check out I Am What I Am here at my LJ...

Title: Perfect
Song Artist:  Simple Plan
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary: Sometimes, even your best just isn't good enough...A vid about Justin's tumultuous relationship with his dad.
Warnings: Angst ahead...Plus, the male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit.
Notes:   There are two versions of this vid.  The original took some creative criticism regarding clip-length and editing choices and blossomed into this version.  I still have the original so I can always look back and see how it's grown, but trust me, this is the one you want to see.

Check out Perfect here at my LJ...

Title: I Won't Send Roses
Song Artist: John Barrowman
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary: Brian's feelings toward Justin and what Justin wants out of a boyfriend.
Warnings: Angst ahead.  Plus, the male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit
Notes: Okay, I humbly stand back and admit this vid is no where near my current standards.  In fact, watching it now, I all but cringe.  But, for my first shot, I don't think it turned out too terrible.  It was this song with this storyline behind it that finally inspired me to get off my butt and start my own vids.  I had requested it before, but no one had taken it up.  So,  once I was able (meaning had the software) I decided to give it a shot myself.  Who knows...maybe one day I'll go back and re-do it so it's on par with my others...maybe...

Title: Just Dance
Music: Lady Gaga
Source: Queer As Folk US S1-5
Focus: Babylon ensemble
Summary: "So the "thumpa thumpa" continues. It always will. No matter what happens. No matter who's president. As our lady of Disco, the divine Miss Gloria Gaynor has always sung to us: We will survive."

Vids 13 & 14 of 17...

Title:  When You Say You Love Me
Song Artist:  Josh Groban
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary:  Brian looks back on what he once thought was impossible...his five-year relationship with Justin Taylor...
Warnings:  Not a whole lot of warning-worthy stuff here, except the male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit
Notes:  This vid is a bit different from my other QAF vids.  Up to this point, they've all been pretty heavy, pretty angsty.  But, this vid is all about the love...it's as fluffy a vid as I can come up with without stripping the characters down and (in my mind) destroying them completely.  You tell me if I got it right...

Check out When You Say You Love Me here at my LJ...

Title:
Amazing Grace
Song Artist:  Il Divo
Fandom: Torchwood
Summary: This vid attempts to capture some of the most emotional moments in Children of Earth.  And, yes, that means that THAT SCENE is in it...probably (hopefully) the most poignant piece actually given its subject matter. So watch at your own risk, and I dare say keep tissues handy.
Warnings: SPOILERS for all five episodes of Torchwood: Children of Earth!!!  Also, a ton of angst (those who've seen it know why). Plus, male/male relationships, but nothing explicit.
Notes:  In the beginning of Day Five, Jack has a line that just called out for this video (I actually opened the vid with it, so click if you're curious)...Well, guys, this is me giving him what he asked for...sort of..

Vids 11 & 12...almost done...just in time to finish up another one...OY!

Title:
When You Say You Love Me
Song Artist: Josh Groban
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary: Brian Kinney looks back on what he once thought was impossible...his five year relationship with one Justin Taylor.
Warnings: Male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit.
Notes:  This was a fun vid to make, a nice break in my pattern of angsty, dramatic vids...an afternoon stroll into the world of just good ol' fashioned fluffy romance.  Plus, it's my favorite Josh Groban song of all time, so I had to use it somewhere.

Check out When You Say You Love Me here at my LJ...

Title: Never Gonna Be Alone
Song Artist: Nickelback
Fandom: Torchwood
Summary:  Jack thinks about his team and what they mean to him...well, most of them (Sorry, Gwen fans...I'm not a big fan of her character (at least, I wasn't until COE) so I didn't include her in this vid...no offense is meant to anyone, it was just an editorial decision on my part)
Warnings:  Just a bit of angst (as usual), Plus, male/male relationships, but nothing explicit.
Notes: As of today, this is the last Torchwood vid I've made...I'm working on another one right now, and, hopefully, I can have it finished by this afternoon.  But as of this moment in time (for Torchwood) anyway, this is it.

Check out Never Gonna Be Alone here at my LJ...

Here are vids 9 & 10...

Title:
Where Will You Go
Song Artist: Evanescence
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary:   This video is all about poor Brian's cancer from Season 4. Brian is so determined to do this on his own, but as usual Justin sees right through his tough-guy, 'I don't need anyone' facade...down to the just plain scared human being Brian really is. And, try as he might, Brian just can't seem to escape him.
Warnings: Angst ahead (it is the cancer arc, after all). Plus, male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit
Notes:   This vid was challenging because I limited myself to clips from only the latter half of season 4.   Since it was all about Brian's cancer, it felt like cheating to use anything other than episodes that involved the actual disease...from the original doctor in the backroom that found the lump to the season 4 finale.  Tough to use only a half-season's worth of material when I'd gotten used to using 5 seasons' worth...

Check out Where Will You Go here at my LJ...

Title: Gotta Be Somebody
Song Artist:  Nickelback
Fandom: Queer As Folk US, Torchwood
Summary: This is a combination video. Queer As Folk meets Torchwood. Or should I say Brian Kinney meets Captain Jack Harkness...sort of. This vid just kind of draws a parallel between two enigmatic characters (and their relationships) that don't necessarily have much in common ...or do they?
Warnings: Spoilers for all seasons of both shows (except Torchwood Season 3), Plus, male/male relationships, but nothing explicit.
Notes:  This was bound to happen eventually...I'm not much on crossover vids, but these two guys just had too much in common to keep apart for long.

Yep, another week has passed and it's time for vids number 7 & 8...halfway to the finish line.  YAY!!

Title: I Know Him So Well
Song Artist: John Barrowman & Daniel Boys
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary:  Looking back on Brian and Justin's parting of the ways, it's kind of eerie how this song spoke so well for both of them. Justin, so determined not to let Brian become someone he's not just to make him happy. Brian, unwilling to let Justin sacrifice his future for a chance at a life together. Both so convinced they know what is best for the other.
Warnings: Angst ahead. Spoilers for all seasons, especially season 5.  Plus, male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit
Notes: This vid immediately followed What About Us in my vidding portfolio, when I was briefly stuck in a John Barrowman frame of mind (musically speaking, of course).

Check out I Know Him So Well here at my LJ...

Title: What About Now
Song Artist: Daughtry
Fandom: Torchwood
Summary: Jack has no idea of the impact he's had on Ianto...
Warnings: Some angst ahead, but not a lot. Plus, male/male relationships (strictly Jack/Ianto) though, nothing explicit.
Notes: This was done as an Ianto-sided version of my vid Far Away...and was my third Torchwood vid.

Check out What About Now here at my LJ...

That's right...it's been about a week so here's post number 3...this makes six down, only 10 more to go...

 Title: Colourblind
Song Artist: Darius
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary:  This video was done solely to allow me to play with my new vid software. Transitions, scene manipulation, color layers...all of it came into play. Plus, I like the upbeat-ness of the song. Fun and sweet but not so overly romantic as to be requiring insulin injections afterwards.
Warnings: Male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit.
Notes: This was the third vid in my portfolio so it seemed appropriate to post it third here as well.  It was a really fun vid, and I learned  a lot about my new software in making it.

Check out Colourblind over at my LJ...

Title: The Real Me
Song Artist: Clay Aiken
Fandom: Torchwood
Summary: While my first love will always be Brian Kinney and Justin Taylor, even I cannot deny the beauty that is Capt. Jack Harkness mixed with a dash of Ianto Jones.   Two beautiful, almost tragic characters drawn together through a shared suffering...Both with their facades fixed firmly in place, desperately keeping the outside world at bay. It is only with each other that they are safe to be themselves...loved, accepted, and unjudged...finally, safe to be real.
Warnings: Male/male relationships (strictly, Jack/Ianto) though, nothing explicit.
Notes: This was my first Torchwood video.

Check out The Real Me over at my LJ...

Well, it's been a week since the last posting so here's the next two vids, as promised.

Title: What About Us
Song Artist: John Barrowman
Fandom: Queer As Folk US
Summary: As much as I love Brian, if I take an honest look back at Season 5, I have to ask myself...was Justin's leaving really so surprising?  Here's a look at what I think was going through Justin's mind after his return from Hollywood.
Warnings: Much angst ahead. Plus, male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit.  And SPOILERS for all seasons, especially (obviously) Season 5.
Notes: This is getting posted second as it has proven to be my second most popular vid even though it was only my third attempt at vid making.  It is the only other one to have surpassed 1,000 views on YouTube.

Check out What About Us over at my LJ...

Title:
Far Away
Song Artist: Nickelback
Fandom: Torchwood
Summary: Jack's been away for too long and is ready to come home...will Ianto still be there?
Warnings: Some angst ahead. Plus, male/male relationships (totally Jack/Ianto) though, nothing explicit.
Notes: This is my second Torchwood video, and it uses one of my favorite songs of all time.  While sweet and romantic, it's not over the top or  insulin-requiringly sweet.   (Also, it's my sister's all-time favorite and she threatened my life if I didn't use it for a Janto vid.)

It has been suggested to me that since I work in two fandoms, I post two 'starter vids' (one for each fandom) and then a vid a week until  all of my current vids have been posted here, and it sounded like a good idea to me.  So here's the first two...

Title:
  Maybe It's Me
Song Artist:  Ingram Hill
Fandom:  Queer As Folk US
Summary:  What does Brian Kinney see when he looks in the mirror?
Warnings:  Much angst ahead.  Plus, male/male relationships (after all, it is Queer As Folk) though, nothing explicit
Notes:  I'm posting this vid first, not because it was the first one I made, but because it has proven to be my most popular vid.  It was only posted in Feb. but has already accrued almost 1,700 hits on YouTube.  So, let me know what you think.

Check out Maybe It's Me here at my LJ...

Title:
  Used To
Song Artist:  Daughtry
Fandom:  Torchwood
Summary:  Jack and Ianto are having a rough time and both are wondering if they'll ever be able to get back to the way things used to be.
Warnings:  Some angst ahead.  Plus, male/male relationships (strictly Jack/Ianto) though nothing explicit
Notes:  This vid was done by request for one of my first 'fans.'  Like Maybe It's Me, it's not my first Torchwood vid, but it's my favorite Jack/Ianto vid so far.
