I have a fairly new PC, Vista operating system, only a couple of months old. Every time I run either Adobe Premiere 6.5 or Ulead 11.5 Plus, both programmes crash the moment I start trying to make a video. Every. Single. Time. And it's driving me nuts.

Anyone know why this is happening? Is there a way to solve this? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

what format is your source?

Hmmm, it sounds to me like it might be that you're missing a codec for your source, since both programmes are affected. Another thing I would do is make sure you have all the relevant Vista drivers for your editing programmes. I assume you'd be able to get those from the Adobe and Ulead sites.

how large are the files you're trying to open? I use mpeg files but had to cut them down to smaller clips, or ulead does crash. Vista works well with lead 11 so it may not be that your problem is related to that.

That doesnt sound like a bad size though, should be able to cope with that, have you tried using the "multi trim" option to cut them? I agree that it may be a codec problem. Try this: http://www.free-codecs.com/Vista_Codec_Package_download.htm
