Paul has been finally convinced that the new YouTube policies that give ad money to copyright holders makes it safe enough to finally try putting some videos up.  We just got the channel up and are still rank innocents in all this.  Don't know if we're screwing anything up, and all suggestions greatly recommended.

Some vids can't go up, like Don Henley's "Boys of Summer," but I'm grateful that some seem to be acceptable to them.

So please make suggestions, give advice and encouragement, and recommend videos that HAVE to be up there.

If you haven't used
https://www.youtube.com/music_policies yet, it's great for being able to tell ahead of time which songs are banned in which countries! (or which songs you're not allowed to use on youtube in general)
As for visual content, they've been edited yourself so I've never had a copyright problem! The only problem may arise if you upload full scenes, which I doubt you will.

I upload all my videos to youtube - that's my only platform. So I find it very safe. I'm not sure what your worries are, but if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them! (Or at least try to!)

The other places to upload vids that Youtube won't accept

Critical Commons (you need to apply for an account)
Ex: http://www.criticalcommons.org/Members/starlady/clips/galaxyrise

Vimeo (put them under password and then create a "placeholder" link on AO3.

in fact if you create a placeholder "page" on AO3, it will create a stable link and if you ever have to swap out vids due to takedown, you only have to update the link in one place.

Yeah, one thing I'll say about youtube is there is no permanence. Copyright policies change all the time, so that link I gave you updates every few months. Definitely a good idea to keep your videos on your own website!

Just a thought, but I think a lot of people use Vimeo as a backup in case Youtube mutes the audio or takes down their videos entirely. As it's a site more geared towards video producers than Youtube is, they seem to be more lenient in what's allowed, and as the above poster says, it will also allow you to password protect your videos. So that might be something for you to consider. Or, you could put your videos up as unlisted on Youtube, so that only people with the direct link are able to view it and it's not searchable. I've done that with a few embarrassing videos I've made for class projects in school.
