Does anyone know if the Arrogant Worms' "The Mountie Song" has ever been vidded to Due South?
It seems like such an incredibly obvious and humorous idea that I cannot believe it has never been done. I know there are songfics, but I haven't seen a vid.
(Of course, that could be because I've only found, like, five dS vids total and I have been looking, believe me. I know there are some offline but I keep not having the money to order any.)
If it hasn't been vidded, I want at it. If it has, I just wanna watch it. Anyone?

*Heh.*
Story of my life.
I've been trying to focus on vids I could actually finish, thus the Rhade, 'cause, four episodes total, and the Labyrinth, 'cause, just the one movie and maybe some Ziggy Stardust the Motion Picture which I also have on hand, and the Utena on was *supposed* to be that way but I keep wishing I had the series and not just the movie to play with.
Silly me...

Date: 2002-10-22 12:27 am (UTC)It just occurred to me, though -- what would you do for "my stupid hat flies off my head in every parade?" Fraser has the invulnerable hat.
Oh! For "honest, loyal, humble, strong, and thrifty" you could do Fraser trying to steal milk duds to be imprisoned with RayV (Witness). And there are interesting "don't break ranks" resonances with the pilot and Bird in the Hand and Gerrard. Dude, and there's even an episode where someone's plotting the assassination of the Canadian trade representative. And he hates his Dudley DoRight persona in "Flashback."
I am loving this more every time I think about it, in case you couldn't tell.

Fraser has the invulnerable hat.
I seem to recall that there's something hat-related in Good For the Soul -- when they start to beat him up, he has his hat on, but then his hat flies off and they *really* start hitting him. Am I imagining that?

Great Minds Think Alike. I wrote that one down on the vid plan last night.

There are, aren't there? Huh.
Dude, and there's even an episode where someone's plotting the assassination of the Canadian trade representative.
Dude, there is? This is too perfect. Which one? Has it got, like, nice vid-worthy shots of people in targeting crosshairs?
And he hates his Dudley DoRight persona in "Flashback."
I was thinking of using *other* Mounties for the Mounties the narrator mocks. Like, Dudley DoRight could be Turnbull, and Sgt. Preston Of The Yukon could be, like, his father or Buck Frobisher or someone.
Fraser mocking himself in Flashback could get used during the choruses, maybe -- "The RCMP is not the life for me." And you could also use, there, him threatening to resign in the pilot. Or something.
I was wondering how much humor one could maximally get out of Some Like It Red, here. One could use it in the first verse, for "I really don't look good in red," (because Fraser is *so* not a redhead) but I'm wondering if it would be funnier to have Ms. Fraser show up first in one of the choruses, on "I want to wear normal clothes." Is it as funny if it's used twice? Because the second time, the viewer would have already seen Fraser in drag and have that in the back of their mind that it was possible to use in this vid, and it maybe wouldn't be quite as funny. But it fits well for both. What do you thing? (UsedCarSalesman!Fraser also needs to appear for "normal clothes.")
Is Fraser chasing the purse snatcher through the mall in "Seeing is Believing" too literal for "We act like guards in shopping malls"?
I don't know how this would work, overall -- it seems like it would have to be half-serious (ie, "don't break ranks") and then go completely funny. Don't know how that would come out.
And what would you do for the bridge, with the people asking all the questions?
I so want to watch this vid now. Someone *must* have done it before.
