Liked the reshaping of the storyline -- although without the lyrics at hand could not catch all the nuances. Having seen the movie, I was able to follow the vid. Some good editing moments -- particularly when you vary clips & motion in the clips in time with the pace of the song. Good match on the music to the story as well.

Have to ask -- which codec/compresssion settings did you use. It was lovely.

Materials used....

MGI Videowave 5 - I use this program strictly for editing and special effects. I prefer this program to any other and I've just about used them all. I rarely ever hear VW5 mentioned as a good editing program. I've used it a long time and now I'm so comfortable I can manipulate it to do things beyond its supposed capabilities. It does take some getting used to.

Ulead MediaStudios 6.0 - I mainly use this program for resizing and rendering my videos in an .MPG format. An in-depth resizing option is one of the features MGI Videowave lacks.

Ulead Audio Editor 6.0 - A very handy tool because sometimes songs are just too long or have long instrumental parts in the song that mean absolutely nothing. My videos are lyric driven and I usually edit unnecessary chorus instrumentals out.

I use MPEG1 for all my videos (all rendering is done on Ulead Mediastudios 6.0) and it doesn't require a codec like an .AVI file. I just use 800-900 kbs rate and it doesn't wreak too much havoc on the quality when compressing the video to an acceptable file size.

Thank you :) Spider-man was one of my favorite projects to work on and I had a lot of fun making the video. The comic book style was inspiring and allowed me to experiment with various edits.

No, really. I haven't yet seen the film (anxiously waiting for the DVD to be released in the UK) but I felt the raw energy of the song well translated into the compressed exploding fury of the character. I am just learning vidding, so I appreciated a lot you putting up the info regarding how you made the songvid. Being a beginner, I don't feel confident in commenting on the technique, other than your editing and cut choices worked brilliantly for me. It has quickly become one of my top favorite 5 and I play it often. Thank you so much for making it!

Thanks for the generous compliments. It's very much appreciated. Sometimes I lose sight of the little things I put in those videos and it takes someone else pointing them out for me to remember all the things I tried to express. I will definitely be making a Spider-man 2 video. I already have the song choice and the storyboard of the themes I want to express and I haven't even seen the movie yet lol. I can see the themes through the various SM2 trailers/TV spots and I think my guesses are on the money. It's just a matter of having to wait 6+ months for the DVD to come out.

I'll most likely be doing the Kiss of the Dragon video over in the near future. I made it over 2 years ago when my resources were very limited. Now that I have a more advanced PC and a better video source I want to do it over to have better video quality. Same goes for Equilibrium. Your comments inspire me to do better and I'll try my best...thanks again. I'll see you around ;)
