DVD Decrypter issue

Checked the tags, but didn't find this issue, so I'll go ahead and ask...
I'm brand-new to vidding and am trying to get started with the help of the AMV App, which includes DVD Decrypter for ripping DVDs. Trouble is, DVD Decrypter isn't working for me. (I've only got one DVD to try, though, so it might be a localized issue.) The furthest it's ever gotten was 9%, and that was after me ignoring a certain error as it repeatedly came up; usually, however, it just stays on 0% forever, and the error message that I keep getting cites an I/O problem of some kind. (The DVD Decrypter log says "Failed to read sector [number here] - Illegal Mode For This Track." I've got a screenshot of the error message if that would help.)
Has anyone else ever had issues with DVD Decrypter like this? And is there another readily available ripping program I can use in the meantime? (I want VOBs, ideally.) Thanks in advance!! :)
