Pinnacle: Rendering Quality

So, my use of a totally obsucre program comes back to bite me again, but...on the offchance someone can help/this isn't a program specific issue:

I have a project to render. Even when I render it in DV, like, totally uncompressed, I'm losing a noticable amount of quality. I mean, it's not horrifically unwatchable or anything, but I can definitely notice and it's frustrating.

And I don't understand why. Is this a ridiculous stupid problem with Pinnacle? Is this a problem with my settings? Does this always happen? Do the vidding gods just totally hate me?
