So, I was in my editing software, about to finish a video, and as I was saving it, for the trillionth time, my laptop overheated and shut off. When I opened the file back up after restarting the computer, it had significantly changes (half of it was missing, for one). Had anyone had this problem that knows how to undo changes done to a file?

I use Puremotion EditStudio. Which I think no longer technically exists as a company, so... yeah.

GAH! I'm so sorry! Data loss is always terrible, but when it's a vid (or part of one), it's the absolute WORST.

::hugs::

Thats a real bummer, especially when you have been intentionally saving it - its a practice I used to do.

Without knowing how the program works, how long was it between the 2nd last save & the last save when it crashed? Were there huge chunks of work done in that time? If so, then theres a good chance its gone forever, as the save you did probably didn't take effect. Or worse still, it got half way through & not saved the whole thing as it crashed at the worst possible moment - but that would usually corrupt the save as well & you wouldn;t even be able to load the project.

No solution to the current problem. I have overheating problems occasionally and that's why I have a 4" hi-velocity fan cooling down the laptop whenever I do any video work on it.
