I've downloaded a 4gb mkv of an hd-dvd, and the quality is just so amazing. I want to use pull clips from it for a vid. Virtual dub can't seem to open the file. So, is there a tool like Virtual Dub that will? Thanks!

You can do it in VDub if you use Avisynth and the FFmpegSource plugin (DirectShowSource also works, I believe, but FFmpegSource is what I use).

I know that no matter what I tried VirtualDubMod was just not taking my MKV, but to be able to use the MKV, I converted them into MPEG-2 (almost NO quality loss) and I did it through Total Video Converter that you can google. =) (you can also convert to VOB, WMV and other formats if you prefer)

You're very very much welcome!!! I struggled with MKV a few weeks ago, so now I know how to make them obey *giggles* =)
