Hey my name is Linda I just Joined this community I Make Buffy music videos and you can see my vids if you want at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=97A8362E0B1E23CA its a Playlist of all my vids. I was wondering what is the best dvd ripper? and also what in your all opinons what is the best video editing program for PCs? and are macs really better for that for vid editing? right now i just have windows movie maker.

heya - welcome to the vidding community. On the LJ info page as well as in the memories section (look under For New vidders) there is a lot of info about DVD ripping, editing programs, tips for new vidders.

I am a Mac vidder - up until the new dual core chips, Mac users were limited in their editing software - but because it was Mac, while you had fewer choices, they often worked better and the system was more stable. The newer Macs can now run some of the PC programs as well.

If you're on a pc, I'd stick to it - I'm on a mac with Final Cut Express and I love it, but I wouldn't get a whole new system for it, because it is very expensive to do that. I'd look into upgrading from WMM instead. :)
