Anamorphic Widescreen?

I'm using Windows Movie Maker and that aspect ratio is not an option. Is there anything I can do? Either in or out of WMM?

Not sure what you meanexactly, but you can either have 16:9 or 4:3 - any source different to those used in the vid will be squished to fit which ever one you have selected. I haven't found a way round it yet and if anyone knows of one please do reveal.

If all your source is the same aspect ratio then just choose under Tools>Options>Advanced and select ratio & PAL/NTSC.

If you already knew that then sorry I couldn't help.

It's all the same but the dvd says it's anamorphic widescreen 2.35:1? I have it on 16:9 but it still looks a little squished to me. *shrugs*

Ok, no WMM hasn't got as advanced as widescreen setting so it's gonna be squished I'm afraid...

Don't worry! There's a way to fix it! This is what I do. Before importing the video into WMM, I run it through a (free) program called TMPGEnc, found here (http://www.tmpgenc.net/). (It's also one of the programs I use in the ripping DVDs process, but that's not important for this.)

I want to walk you through the settings with pictures & everything, so let me get out of the comments here & I'll write up a quick tutorial. Just a sec.

Ok, I wrote up step-by-step how I fix it for myself. There may be a simpler way out there, I don't know. But this always works for me.
