Look at me, I've been asking you guys to post and promote your own vids, and you've been doing these nice introductions, and I haven't done so myself yet.
I'm a very new vidder. I'm more or less a slasher, and I've been watching vids for a few years now, but I never felt the inclination to make them, until one day I suddenly found an obscure song and I *knew* it perfectly fit the slashy Joe/Billy relationship in (the relatively obscure movie) Hard Core Logo, and oh, how I wanted to see a vid of that. But nobody would make it for me, and I asked and I asked for months. So I figured that if I wanted to see it, well, I was going to have to make it myself.
So in February I made Flower (zipped RM file), to Pansy Division's punk cover of Liz Phair's song. The lyrics are very very VERY explicit, the song is catchy, and the editing sucks large jagged rocks in several places (*coughPOVproblemscough*), but many people seem to like it anyway. Watch for the knife-licking. Warning: explicitly sexual language, some violence, visual spoilers for the end of the movie.
I also vidded Wherever You Will Go to Jurassic Park 3, slash. I'm thinking nobody else saw this movie. It has dinosaurs and slashy people, and that's about it, really. My editing got a little better. No warnings on this.
My most recent vid was made in July, and it's the one I'm happiest with. I vidded Sorry, by Nerf Herder (of Buffy theme song fame) to X-Files, Mulder/Krycek slash. I am told that it's not your typical M/K vid, and I am also told that it does things with irony and meta that I had no clue I was doing when I made it. I'm very happy with it. Warnings: a bit of the old ultra-violence, minor sexual references in the lyrics, includes clips from "Existence."
My current vid plans are almost all Due South slash and gen (and one Sentinel gen one), and I dream of one day having access to digitized dS (and maybe TS) so that I might actually make them. (My VCRs are not spiffy enough for analog editing, nor are my tapes good enough -- I can vid only from DVDs or other pre-digitized source.) If anyone knows a source for digitized dS, you would have my eternal gratitude. Really.

Ive been capping and encoding approx 40 DUE SOUTH episodes for the past
couple months and am presently getting 7 new episodes per week. For those
interested...
you can find and download them from my server on IRC
on DALNET in any one of 4 channels where I am serving 24/7
I am an operator in #tv-rips so I recommend that one
you can find me on IRC as media-maxine. I have the season finale, pilot,
the ride, victoria's secret and at least 35 other episodes.
If enough people show demand Ill run a server for just due south episodes
24/7
P.S. They are 352/240 mpg cap, encoded to wmv at 786 bps, 44/16 (audio)
and LOOK GREAT. no charge they are free...it's just the best show ever made
hands down

Date: 2006-08-09 08:35 pm (UTC)The links there should actually all still be active, believe it or not. I tried downloading one just now to see, and it worked for me. Are you having download problems?
Hope you like the vid.

Date: 2006-08-10 02:30 am (UTC)When I got your reply just now, I tried again, on my other computer, and when I tried off-click save again, I still got the HTML file instead of a zip. So, to see what the HTML file was, without, you know, saving it and forgetting to delete it and then finding it this time next year and spending long minutes in WTF? mode, I just normal-clicked on the link. Which resulted in the normal Open Save dialog window and a successful download.
*hand gestures*
I have no idea why that happened. I fail at the internets today, apparently. But, hey, there was a happy ending, and I will be able to watch the vid as soon as I get, you know, four consecutive minutes of relative quiet, so I'm counting this as an overall win. Yay!

Date: 2008-12-03 01:03 am (UTC)Absolute favorite? Wow. I am honored.
And thanks also for letting me know you liked it. I've come across recs for it when I google, but very few people tell me so, and it's always nice to know it's, you know, getting watched. :)
