My ever-helpful vidders,

Help a sister out?

I recently sent my PC in for repairs after it went mental (aka corrupted software stuffed the whole thing). My files were all a-ok and I've moved them from the backup folder back to their original positions, but when I open my vid file in Vegas it won't connect two of the files (that a significant number of my clips are sourced from :\). I don't really know wtf I'm doing, but I downloaded quicktime and divx as I had them before...still no joy, even when I manually connect the vids. I get this:

Any advice?

TIA!

Two observations. In the clip window, all the clips are .mpg whereas the Indistructable that you seem to want ot import has a Quick time logo, so I think that makes it a .mov? That difference might be part of the explantion.

The file you tried to open manually is actually a different file anyway, it has a .vf extension, which apperantly is a SV project file extension (http://www.file-extensions.org/vf-file-extension). Project files don't normally include any clips, just project information. Can you actually see the clip you want when you try to open manually? I vid in SV Pro, and everytime I pull a clip onto the timeline the programme creates a .sf file in the same folder with the same name. This is not a clip, it's just project information. These files are very small, and depending on the settings of your computer you can't see them unless you specifically 'unhide' them. I'm wondering whether this is a similar thing?
