Well, I'm a vidder who's only recently joined the community. I was burned pretty badly on a couple of vidding mailing lists and haven't cared much for hanging out with other vidders since, but this seems like a pretty easygoing community, so...here I am. I do take my vidding reasonably seriously, but I'm really not interested in the same-old, same-old "digital vidding versus VCR-to-VCR" type flamewars. I vid mostly in X Files, although I've just finished one for an Australian mini-series and I'm working on ones for Harry Potter and Cider House Rules. I also like to watch Buffy and Once A Thief vids. I like both interpretive and intuitive work, but I tend to work on the literal-interpretive side myself.

My video site is at http://video.deslea.com - of the ones there, my favourites of my own work are Gravity Of Love, Standing In The Way, Pray, and Did We Not Choose Each Other. Those are all X Files. The first two are Krycek/Marita, the third is a Marita POV on the mytharc, and the fourth is Doggett/Reyes. The other one I really like is one I've just finished, for the mini-series Brides Of Christ, themed on Catherine leaving the convent. That's 5MB, Winzip 8 or equivalent to open, RealPlayer 8 or higher to play, and it's available here.

Hi! Welcome!

I'm really hoping there are no "digital versus VCR" wars here, myself.

Ooh, there are OaT vids? Where? Give, give! (I've just started watching OaT in US syndication, and I'm really liking it.)

Wow, the Director one's really good! I think I'm just liking the whole multiple-pairing-ness of it, because I think I'm picking up UST between pretty much everyone on the show. So it makes me happy to see that other people are seeing that too. I would be very interested in seeing more OaT vids; Mac/Vic would be very very nice indeed.

So you do a lot of Krycek-y het stuff, it seems? I didn't know Krycek/Marita had a following. Cool.

Assuming she does, I should have them up in a couple of days.

Thanks so much! Looking forward to them.

I quite like LiAnn on her own, but the everyone-loves-LiAnn thing bugged me.

Hmm. I can see how that might be annoying, but I'm not seeing as an everyone-loves-Li Ann thing. I'm seeing it as an everyone-loves-everyone-else thing, and just that the people who love Li Ann happen to be more vocal about it. (Well, it makes me happy to think of it like that, anyway.)

I kind of jumped right into the Krycek slash. I'm a very very new XF fan -- I never watched it when it was on, because I wanted to watch it in the right order if I was going to watch it at all, since I figured I'd get into it if I watched it. I watched some of S1 last year, and then watched up through S4 this summer, with the occasional S5 ep. Haven't seen much at all of the later seasons. And I really liked Krycek. (And then I thought, "Hey, I could vid Mulder/Krycek to this song!" So I did. Hmm, I ought to formally post that to this community, in case anyone else wants it.)

All my friends who were getting me to watch XF, explaining plots and stuff like that -- they were *all* slashers, mostly M/K slashers though one does M/Sk too, and most of them used to be MSR fans. So the slash was what they were all up on, and so that was what I saw in the show, and that was what they recced me. I really like the M/K, in all its dysfunctionality. (Plus I think NL's cute and I have a thing for Russian.)

I haven't been into a fandom for het for a few years now, and I kind of (*sheepish grin*) get to start thinking of het fans as The Enemy, y'know? I know it isn't true, but it starts to happen anyway. So I'd kind of like to see what's out there in XF, see if I like it. I'll probably be checking out your vids and fic soon. Not this week, though, 'cause it's midterms...

Having found the time for vid-watching even during midterm week, can I just say that I really like "Pray"? Really really. Yay mytharc. I especially liked the "hold out your hands" bits at the beginning.
