Wow!!! That was a wonderful piece of editing. The scenes matched up to the beats of the music, perfectly. The movie's own SFX support the video well enough on its own, and you've used them to the fullest advantage! The fast pacing of this vid keeps the viewer interested and craving more. The lyrics matched up perfectly as well, such as the lines with "fire" and "eyes." Excellent job my friend! I will certainly have to rent these movies soon. ;)

That last line? The best compliment. If I can get you into the fandom, then I am so proud of myself ^_^ But I thank you muchly for the rest of the review; I'm a beat-edit sort of person so making sure everything is in line is my goal.

Hee.. well, technically, there is more; the original song was 03:45 in length. But I knew, for this sort of song, and these types of cuts/SFX, it needed to be shorter. Much shorter. So I did a trims here and there.

For the 'fire' line, I kept telling myself from the start that I would not be literal, I wouldn't use Pyro....but I ended up, anyway. He seemed best.

When and if you view the movies, I am most interested in what you think ^^ I will say that, yes, the effects in the first are a bit on the cheesy side. The FX guy in one of the X2 documentaries said so himself. But..budgets are budgets.

Also, your 'Forsaken' video. Yet another I'm addicted to. You're too damn awesome. Same for 'Complicated'; I ended up looking up more of the band (Collide), discovered 'Falling Up'.. very wonderful piece of music. Have you heard?

Wow! I loved this. It really captured what excites me about the X-Men mythology and characters. I kinda wish you hadn't cut the song down so much, because I wasn't ready for it to end when it did. :-) Really enjoyed a lot of the choices you made, though, especially on which characters illustrated which lines. Nightcrawler for "scared of myself," Bobby running away from his family for "discarded," and especially Magneto reading Once and Future King. Good stuff!

Great job with your video, but I have to agree that it was too short. The ending felt a little abrupt and made me wonder if I downloaded the whole thing or not. Also, one minor thing, you may want to try and fix your project aspect ratio settings because we can see the black bars from the editor and the black bars from the movie, but again, this is really minor. Great job!

Black bars from the editor? I do not have those. At least, I do not believe I do ^^;; The black bars from the video are something I cannot help... or at least I can't with my software. See, I ripped everything in 'Fullscreen' but since the original source material is Widescreen, there is the bars.

So not true, I hate that it was short! *pouts* I've watched a lot of Buffy/Angel vids that have fast paced cuts, my attention never wavered. Funny though that even if it was 5 minutes long, it still seemed short and I was left wanting more!

And do you know where I can find other really great X-Men vids...and I mean GREAT vids with great effects, and great editing, and great quality is always er great, lol ;O) ...I have high expectations! *bows head in shame* I can't help it.

Hee...you're asking the same thing I asked about a week ago (http://www.livejournal.com/community/vidding/245940.html).

The only I've found that is *wonderful*, simply superb and damn addicting is found here (http://seacouver.slashcity.net/vidland/vids.html#other). If you don't have quicktime, which is what the video requires, I have it converted to .wmv. After viewing, so give feedback to killabeez. Really, it is amazing!!

There is a page here (http://www.angelfire.com/film/loganrogueshipper/)for mvids but... um... they all suck. Seriously, the video-audio quality is so atrocious.

And...that is all I can think of. I plan to make a solo Nightcrawler vid, if I can (currently lacking song). Then, if I get the right song (that is always key) I'll be making two Nightcrawler shipper vids: Nightcrawler/Toad, Nightcrawler/Wolverine.

I liked this vid a lot - the rage and pain of feeling disconnected worked well with the song choice and the cuts you made illustrated it well. I felt the ending was abrupt - but understand that you were trying to focus the viewer's attention, not drag them along.

Well, le problem is as follows: I have the dvd (and, trust me, it is beyond awesome; I also have 'Forever') and I've absolutely fallen head over heels in love with Siouxie and the Banshee's 'Face to Face' video. I saw it, enjoyed it, watched again, and you just -know- the ideas went crazy.

Ala what I plan to do for 'Forever', I plan to do to this, only doubly more challenging. (Cutting out all the Batman Returns footage and replacing with me own). The pairing?

Dracula/Van Helsing would so fit not only the story, but also the look (blue lighting, etc). Tried my ripper, and it wouldn't open it. Tried another ripper (Divx to DVD, I believe) and with that I opened all the VOBs, all the IFOs. Still...nothing.

Meh. In any case. Enjoy the vid ^^ I'm naturally appreciative of any feedback ya might offer.

DVD to Divx ... ImTOO DVD Ripper ... none worked. Installed DVD Shrink, opened dvd, set the title in the Re-Author column, hit back-up....and watched in awe as I had my mvid in less than a minute. I mean, I've spent countless hours searching for this damn thing online, in my p2p program, with NOTHING. As I watched the vid, I had to say aloud (despite the odd looks from my family around me) 'It can't be this easy!' But. It was.

Lmfao!!! Thank you, thank you, annnd you're welcome! :D I too found it an awesome EASY miracle of a ripper and I love it dearly as well, hahaha. I especially love how you dont even have to rip whole things and *then* clip em from vobs, you can just rip/clip what you want straight from the dvd :D And of course, the methods I use to demux are simple as well, (vobs to their pure mpg form) but you probly have your own methods there :D Link away!

Aye... Shrink is my new fave ripper. So damn easy! Not sure what you mean by demux, though. Once it finished ripping, I just changed '.vob' to '.mpg' and it worked fine.

Oh, vobs are really like cabinets/folders, theyre not actual single files, like say an avi or wmv. Demux is taking the video and audio out of the cabinet and making into an *actual* mpg file. The video and audio in the cabinet are firstly in m2v and ac3 form. I also like to turn the audio down before muxing it back with the video, to say 96kbps becuz it keeps the total filesize down :D It's been said some ppl "simply" rename the vobs to mpg but that doesnt work for everyone, it will mostly work becuz your player probly knows how to handle vobs as they are (most players dont care what you name something, they can always see past that, hehe) Oy, does that sound complicated? Lmao! :D *goes to dL vid*

Just a wee bit complicated, aye, but mayhap it would make better sense if I weren't playing spline manippage in After Effects... Dracula's ponytail and nose are murder, frame by frame, to cut out from the background. But. I am -determined- there shall be vamp and vamp-hunter smoochage. *decisive nod* So...there will be no matter how much of a headache it is.

Lmao!! 41%... Oh, and after you rename it, you put it into the editor just like that? Your editor must accept vobs then :D The latest version of Pinnacle apparently includes vobs on its list of importable formats too, hehe. And lmao again at your determination to clip-manip... but I dont understand a clue bout how youre doing it? Huh? You're photo-editing scenes *frame* by. *frame*? Gah! The tedious-ness of it (how it just sounds!) just floors me, LoL. I get daunted easily :D 51%!

*nod* Yup. Well, first before importing, I moved it to a different folder, and deleted the AUDIO_TS/VIDEO_TS folders. I also did a test play, to make sure it still, well ya know, played without those two TS's. Then I tried the import (using WMM) and it worked fine.

Oh! Heh..I'm not editing the entire vid frame by frame (ye gods, you'd need to have the patience of a God to do that!) just this one thing (about 2 seconds in length).

Haha! I kno not the entire vid, but even so... 2 seconds in standard frame rate equals 60 frames :D But you're using WMM? Whaa? I applaud anyone who can tolerate that one, hehe. *nod* I use WMM for all of my vids... I enjoy its simplistic layout. Lately, I've been using AE for my special effects - such as masking and such - but I mostly stick to WMM. However, we're learning about Premiere Pro in my one college class, so if I get good enough in that, I'll make the switch... totally in a legal fashion. Yup. Legal. ^_~

Muaha, if you want something better than WMM but like, 10x cheaper than Premiere and just as easy as WMM- go for Pinnacle :D It's been my faithful for the past year and I havent met its match *yet*! Hehehe... The vid was cool! Oo, Smallville time! *bounces* You watch?
