Okay. I'm utterly tired of dealing with WMM. So I began a search for different software, but basically wound up confused. Even worse after checking the memories.

I recently downloaded VideoThang-it's pretty cool, fairly straightforward. Only problem, it doesn't break my video into clips. Since I usually import my own DVDs and make movie fanvids (a sample of my work) I really really want that feature.

So basically, I need either clip-making software or a new editor.
Some preferences:
1. I want it to make clips for me, obv. lol
2. It has to be either free or rock-bottom cheap. As in under $100, preferably under $75 or less.
3. I'd prefer something popular so that I can get tech support or help from you guys if I mess up.

Any suggestions? Thanks for reading :]

ETA: I'm looking into getting DVDShrink and trying out Ulead 11. It'll take a while for downloads but I'll try to come back with updates. Thanks for everyone's input. :)
