Vague infroduction, fairly hefty problem.

Hi. I've been vidding as a hobby since May, using WMM of all things. I've tried Ulead (nice, but won't organize imported clips in any way, shape or form - is this because it was a trial version?) and Vegas (more complicated than the actual Video/Radio program I went to college for a while back) but despite its huge, insane bugs, when it works WMM is still the program I understand and can utilize the best.
That is, until it started refusing to save my project. Not as a movie file, but just as the project itself, claiming there wasn't enough memory to complete the operation. As with most claims WMM makes when it farts, this is bull. I have two hard drives with pleeeeeenty of space left on each. WMM won't even save a completely clear "project" with no music, no footage. Not one bit. PapaJohn's site, as usual, is offering jack squat in the way of assistance and I've sorted through the archives here, but no luck. Has anyone else heard of this? How can I get it to behave, please?
