Hey guys!
I've ripped from dvds for other vidding projects but I can never seem to find the best settings to get me very some high quality .avi's. At the moment I'm working on a Firefly/Serenity vid and I want it to be as stunning as possible.

I've already ripped the dvds with Smartripper. Now I am using FlaskMPEG to convert those files. I have the the newest version of Divx and know I can get some amazing clips if I get the settings right.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some pointers?

I appreciate it. Thanks!

This baby was made for _happyme_ as a part of lithium_doll's Sweet Charity auction (the second round of which should be coming up again in just a couple of months, for those of you who missed out on the fun the first time around), and she has graciously given me the go-ahead to release it into the wild. :D

A stray "girl" in a slash vid?

I was wondering today how important it is that the lyrics of a song is totally "pure" when it comes to using it for slash. Many love songs are rather gender-neutral, but have a stray "girl" somewhere as interjection (for example, "You win again" and "Everlasting love").

What do you think? Do you only use songs for slash vids that are totally girl-free, or do you compromise, and how far?

(I made a slash vid with "You win again", and nobody remarked especially on the "girl", but I dunno if someone disliked the vid because of it...)
