Video Source: Dead Poets Society, original Helena music video
Music: Helena by My Chemical Romance
Download: AVI/DIVX (pretty) or WMV (not so pretty)

When I mentioned to people that this song made me think of Dead Poets Society, they all went like: O_O
But it made perfect sense to me! I could see this video in my head very clearly (and I doubted any Dead Poets Society vids even existed) so I decided to make it. I mixed the movie with the original video for the song, and despite the VHS quality of DPS (remind me to get it on dvd) I like how it came out. There are spoilers for the film. But... I mean, this movie came out in 1989!

Feedback makes me happy. :)

Wow, that was beautiful! The music video & film worked really well together (I especially liked the section of the single girl dancing cut with Robert Sean Leonard's character after the play). I noticed you kept the MTV2 two-headed dog watermark throughout, even on the film footage. Nice touch. :)

I haven't seen DPS yet, but I heard it was a good movie, I just have to get around to watching it. ^_^ Nice editing and blending of scenes. And I can sorta see/understand where the idea for using this song for DPS came from. Kudos on a job well done! The music vid and the movie vid blends really meshed well.

I on the other hand haven't seen his music video yet, but I have seen DPS, and I am a big fan. I felt you represented it well with concise editing. The mixing was a success, and I guess this isn't a big deal, but I think I would've liked to see more DPS footage :)

I agree with sol_se in that the bridge in the later half was quite good. Keep up the good work.

While it downloaded I had my doubts about how well it would work, but I was blown away by how you were able to meld the two together.

I had my doubts, but I really loved it! Thank you so much for sharing. I'd love to see what else you could do for DPS.

I know this was posted a... very long time ago, but I love this video so much. It's so good. My favorite part is how you cut the boys ripping out pages from the textbook to that guitar riff.
