My *coughs* copy of Adobe Premiere crapped out and lo and behold, I can't find the original disk. I think I may have given it away because I'm a charitable soul and all that. So I went to get the trial version of 6.0 until my Amazon-ian legal copy gets here and after downloading it, I find it's having trouble importing video torrent files. It doesn't pop up an error message, just shuts down rudely with no explanation. Getting thoroughly disgusted by this point, I decided to try editing on Movie Maker. Haven't done this in nearly three years and am impressed with all the shiny new toys they have to play with, but my ambitions are beaten back because of the stupid DivX bug in the right hand corner that won't. go. away. Now I think I remember reading a tutorial on how to get rid of the pesky stamp but can't find it. Then I think maybe it's fate telling me to stay away from WMM because as user friendly as it is, it just can't do the stuff I'm used to doing. So any advice on what I should do?

Date: 2005-04-26 04:00 am (UTC)1. Go to the Programs folder (or wherever DivX was installed to)
2. Go to the DivX folder
3. Go to the DivX Codec folder
4. Go to Decoder Configuration Utility (also called "config" in some versions)
5. Click on the Quality Settings tab
6. Check the box labeled "Disable Logo"
7. Press OK
OR if that doesn't work (because it didn't for me), you can try the following:
You can also turn it off from the Start Menu (with Windows):
Start Menu --> All Programs --> DivX --> DivX Codec --> Decoder Configuration Utility (or "config") --> Quality Settings --> Disable Logo
Again, thanks so much for the help! I'd offer you my firstborn but I'm kind of attached to her.
