To all SPN vidders - spn_sceneit news - Inspiration Post

Thanks to a great suggestion by mithborien the mods of spn_sceneit have decided to add a monthly Inspiration Post to the community to see how that works out.

So - on the first of every month you'll see an Inspiration Post post pop up where you're free to suggest any vid ideas you have for other vidders, and song ideas, any themes/pairings you think would work well - basically anything you'd like to see and all SPN vidders are welcome to use these ideas if they appeal to them or it their muse needs a little kick-start =) Please don't just make individual posts with inspiration ideas in spn_sceneit, but instead comment on the monthly posts so we can keep it all in one place and the vidders will then know where to look for ideas - thank you =)

Pimp Yo Vid!

We are also going to be setting up a monthly Pimp Yo Vid! post! This post is for you to pimp the vids you've made but there are two conditions:

1) You must have used spn_sceneit community/received help from this community to make/complete your video.
AND/OR
2) You must have used an idea from the Inspiration Post to make your video.

There are plenty of other places where you can post any other Supernatural videos you make - this post is purely so the members offering their help and ideas can then see what you created from the help this comm gave you =) As with the above post, please do not just randomly post your videos - instead link your videos in the comments of each months Pimp Yo Vid post - these will be posted mid-month on a monthly basis.

Hope all this makes sense and if you've any questions, please just ask =)

We are starting on November 1st.

Would there be a way to know if someone "claimed" an idea? Or is multiple vids for a song/idea encouraged?

I'm not sure "claim" is the right word. We don't intend it to be "first person has the only right to use the idea". It's not a competition nor a challenge. This is about sharing the ideas, maybe help with vidder block - kind of like a brainstorming =)
Anybody can use any idea they like.

I just mean that others might not want to do a vid idea if someone else already is. I think it's a great idea though!

People would most likely (I assume) reply in the comments that they like the idea and will probably be trying it themselves - at least you'd expect people to do that. But it'll most likely be general inspirational ideas, so no two videos would be the same if more than one person liked the idea. Guess we'll see how it works when it starts =)

This is an info about new thing that we're about to try at spn_sceneit. There is a lot of SPN vidders, who are not members of our comm and we think maybe some of them will find it interesting.

Okay, I think I understand why I was confused, now: the way your post is written, it sounds as though you're talking about things that are going to happen here, in vidding, not spn_sceneit. I have a couple of suggestions to make it clearer:

- state upfront that you're addressing SPN vidders only
- change the references to 'this community', 'your mods' and so on to "the mods at spn_sceneit, a community for SPN vidders" etc.
