How do you create that affect of them kissing like that at 1:12? That's amazing. Are you superimposing two images?

I work in Sony Vegas 7, and there`s an effect called masking effect, when you can combine two different images (or more) and cut them like you want. It`s kinda hard, cause you need change this mask every frame to manage the real image of what you want to see, but it`s fun and cool)
