Well you live and learn.

I'm sure at one point this seemed like a good idea. The lyrics fit, there was this nice arabesque thing going on in the music that would fit the exotic oriental romanticism of the footage... but upon completion of the video it became clear that what I'd actually created was something completely and utterly unremarkable.

This video is the new definition of mediocrity. There's nothing particularly wrong with it... but there's nothing particularly right with it either. Hence, I'm putting this one down to experience... not all ideas are as good as they seem.

This one still has clear flaws that I can spot but knowing that the video is never going anywhere I've decided to leave it as is. On the bright side, my live action videos have a good chance of getting better after this one :P

[EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention... this video has toplessness. That could be a good or a bad thing depending on your point of view.]

oh, I don't know, even your 'mistakes' are pretty interesting...

If you want to go more artsy, I would say use the old B&W films like you did w/ Fritz Lang. Unless you would rather do camp which is also fine.

Yeah, doing something like using Nosferatu or perhaps even the old Hammer Horror movies might have had a better result but really I'm not sure whether the song is up to it.

Comedic wasn't necessarily the intent... but really I'm not entirely sure what the original intent was. Once I started editing I realised that the song and footage combination was all too hammy and yet I just carried on regardless hoping that it was just the way the footage was edited.

By the time I'd gotten to the end I'd realised that it wasnt the editing - the concept just wasnt working. I hadn't really thought it through (I usually spend a long time brooding over an idea, this one was a lot more sudden). Ah well. I do like the erotic footage, though. Possibly more than I should.
