And so then I thought, seeing as how no one seems to be making any vids these days, especially not freaking amazing vids that need to be watched immediately, what the world really, really needs, is yet another Highlander fanvid. Especially one that comes perilously close to straying into Lord King Bad territory. Unintentionally.

Here is my second Highlander fanvid.

I believe it is more ambitious than -- and thus less successful than -- my first vid, but I'm posting because I think I've taken it as far as I can on my own. And, also, if I had to listen to the song again, I was going to kill myself.

(Vidding, I have learned, is a surefire way to kill any affection you once had for a song.)

I have made some revisions to my first vid, Undone (The Sweater Song), based on the feedback I received. I wasn't able to fix all of the flaws, even though I agreed with most commenters, simply because in some cases, I was unable to come up with a solution that I preferred to the original.

Most commenters observed that the opening and closing montages seemed very long, and so I tried to fix the problem with additional clips and tighter editing. It's not shorter, of course, but I'm hoping it will seem that way. Anyway, I definitely think this is a better version, so thank you everyone!

This has been a work in process for well over a year. Thanks to

elynross Who pointed out some critical flaws a while ago that I think Ive fixed and to

elistaire. Neither of them have seen this current incarnation of the vid so any faults are purely mine.

It feels great to get this vid off my chest. At this speed I'll have finished my next vid by Winter 2007. Heh..

Thanks also to the HL Leeds Con it gave me the needed boost in HL fannishness to let me start working on the vid again and finally get it finished.

Noooot so sure about this one. I think it sucks monkey like Bitter End sucks monkey but my man likes it (and he does tell me when he doesn't like a vid, despite the risk of beatings :P), so I guess it's a YMMV kinda vid.

HLDU5 Songvid Show

This year at the con, we're having 2 shows, Highlander and non-Highlander vids. Many of the local fans who come to this con don't get a chance to attend the overseas cons that are known for their vidshows. It's a great chance for vidders to reach an international audience, and we'll be providing feedback forms to the audience, so it's a opportunity to get a wider sampling of viewer reactions :)

Highlander DownUnder, the Official Highlander Club of Australia's 5th convention will take place in Brisbane, Australia 9th-11th May 2003.

These cons are run by an incredibly hardworking group of Highlander fans, and are not only very well organised with a great range of events, but they're also an absolute blast (in my possibly biased personal opinion *g*). This will be my third, and I'm glad I'm able to help out in a small way with the vid show. We'd love to have shows of old and new vids, of different styles and genres, from a variety of fandoms.
