WHAT DO I DO?:

If you're a vidder who's willing to participate, and you're confident you could make a vid for your recipient between the end of March and June 20th, would you please send an email (not a journal comment) to dorinda at thechicagoloop dot net sometime before Monday, March 17?

Please include details about your conditions: available fandoms, music choice, things you're flexible about, things you won't do, needs & preferences, etc., as well as a link to your online site/journal/tumblr, if you have one, and your vids online if any.

And everyone please feel free to pass along links to this announcement anywhere appropriate! The more the merrier!

V/N: I heard this song on the radio the other night and was struck by the urge to vid it for these two. It was originally meant to be a liiiiittle more balanced between Shado/Slade and Shado/Oliver but, well, Slade happened. ;) I love Oliver to itty-bitty bits but I also adore a villain with the whole tragic unrequited love thing going on! ♥

CON.TXT 2014 Vid Show: call for slash vids!

CON.TXT is a slash convention held on June 13-15 in Silver Spring, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. For the CON.TXT 2014 Vid Show our goal is to put together a vid show that consists of roughly half submissions and half selections.

The deadline on submitted and suggested vids is April 30th!

You can read the full details on our website, but here are some important points:

• CON.TXT is a slash con and the vid show is limited to slash (m/m or f/f) vids. We're not going to attempt to strictly define "slash" here - just use your best judgment (and feel free to contact us if you're uncertain). The vid com will make the final determination if there's an issue.


• We are accepting submissions of premiering vids and any vids that were first shown at a convention, released in a collection, or posted publicly online within one year prior to CON.TXT 2014 - i.e., on or after June 2013.


• If you'd like to bring to our attention a vid that premiered before June 2013, email a link to vids at con-txt dot net. This does not need to be a vid you made, but we will need a way to contact the vidder if it's not you.


• In an effort to make the vid show as enjoyable and appealing to as wide a range of fans as possible, we are going to take into consideration, and will actively attempt to balance, fandoms, vidders, song and musical styles, vid lengths, and other similar factors in selecting vids for the show. Also, the vid show lasts only a limited time (approximately two hours, including a break), and only a portion of that time will be devoted to submitted vids. So please note that we cannot guarantee that a submitted vid will actually be in the show.


• We will make available warnings for common physical/emotional triggers in the vids we show. Once we select vids for the show, we will contact vidders to confirm any warnings.

We'll try our best to put together another great show, and you can help by sending us your best vids! :)
