Upcoming Conference on "Remix" Looking for Fan Submissions

Hi everyone, as you may have heard I'm working on my PhD on vidding, and several of my colleagues who also study remix and appropriation are hosting a conference at the University of Wollongong that we would love you to attend!

The conference, "Revise: The Art and Science of Contemporary Remix Cultures", will be held December 2-3, 2010 in Wollongong, Australia. We plan to combine academics studying various forms of remix (including machinima, vidding, DJ culture, mashups, AMVs, etc.) with the fan artists and practitioners creating these works for an informal conference event. Academic papers will be presented along with fan presentations, exhibits of remixed work, musical performances, and video shows.

We are hoping to hold this event in tandem with the still-in-planning fan-run vidding convention, which will be held immediately after the academic conference from Dec. 4-5 (Sat & Sun)-- please contact either myself or bop_radar for more information.
