I've been a huge SW fan since '77 and was bound to made a vid in the fandom one of these days. The inspiration for this one was the Deceived cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic, an upcoming massive online game by Bioware.

Hello, everyone!  I've only been making vids and posting vids since January.  Like so many others I started off over on YouTube, but soon discovered the frustration that is inherent there.  So I quickly jumped over to BAM Vid Vault on the recommendations of a fellow vidder, and there I found this community.  And while I'm still relatively new to vid-making I am a vid-watcher from way back.  I only have a couple fandoms I work with at the moment (Queer As Folk US and Torchwood), but I watch almost anything...Stargate SG1, The Sentinel, QAF, Torchwood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel...seriously, almost anything.  So I look forward to checking out your work, and having you check out mine!  I LOVE feedback...what vidder doesn't?  Both positive (great for confidence) and critical (we learn from our mistakes), so lay it on me, guys.

Please head on over to my LJ  Jayce's Vid Sanctuary or my BAM Vid Vault page to check out the 16 vids I've completed so far.  Any future vids, I'll be sure to update here.   Thanks for listening and see you soon! :-)

Stranger in a Strange Fandom ([livejournal.com profile] strangefandom) is back in business! As you may remember, this challenge community shows people vids from unfamiliar fandoms and asks them to write up synopses of what they think that show/move is about. It's tremendous fun! Round 3 is just now underway, and it will hopefully be the best one yet!

The challenge sign-ups start next week, and the event will wrap up just before VividCon in August. Please come join us and pimp hard on your flists! Thank you!

It's been awhile. Like, a really, really long while. Perhaps that's why I am having such issues.

I think I have somehow corrupted my clips. I am using SmartRipper241 to rip, VirtualDubMPEG-2 to convert/clip, and Adobe CS4 Premiere Pro to vid. Anyhow, I am running into an issue where I am losing entire folders of clips. Everytime I open the folder, I get a 'widows explorer needs to close' error. I am pretty sure it's something to do with loading the thumbnails. I updated my VLC, and the issue persists. Anyone else run into this? I've lost two half completed vids due to having to delete whole folders (and my dumb self putting everything in the same spot).

Is my outdated clipping/ripping software causing the problem? And suggestions on new stuff if so?

Edit: Nevermind, I fixed it by updating my codecs. I fail! *cry*
