Never trust a hippy - John Lydon

The latest attempt to rebrand the web, "Web 2.0" has been evangelized as a platform for sharing - but it's increasingly looking like a platform tilted steeply in one direction.

Millions may be about to discover what singer Billy Bragg found out recently, and that "community" hosting web sites can do as they please with creative material you submit.

This was made as a birthday gift for [livejournal.com profile] shadowserenity. [livejournal.com profile] un4scene and I bounced ideas back and forth and then I got started editing and this is what we came up with. Since we just plain couldn't decide whether to go with a straight Six vid (since that's Amsie's favorite character) or a gen vid, I decided to go with color for Six and black and white for everybody else. I dunno. I think it worked. :D

Do you have the encoding blues? Always worried about whether you are using the correct settings? Don't know what to do if your video is PAL or if it's 24fps?

Worry no longer!

LlamaEnc is designed as an almost-one-click program for creating the m2v and wav files that we at Vividcon prefer for video submissions. It accepts most major video formats and will mostly know what to do with anything you throw at it.

::::: Download LlamaEnc 1.0 (4.08mb) here. :::::

This link should work for all future versions of LlamaEnc. New versions will be announced at [livejournal.com profile] vividcon.

Is any body out there familiar with Pinnacle? A friend of mine made me a couple of CDs using Pinnacle, which is fed directly into the computer from the VCR/DVD player. Unfortunately the disk, which is like a four-hour edit tape of some 58 smaller scenes, has the entire thing compressed into one file which my computer hates. I tried using Nero Recode, which got about 10% through the file and gave up. I can play the file in WMM, Nero, and PowerDVD, but it will not let me fastforward through the titles (even though it will acknowlege they're there.)

If anyone can help me figure this out, I'd be grateful. What I'd like to do is parce the thing out into individual titles, so that I can use them for vidding. I'm really frustrated with the whole escapade at this point, but I really want those clips....

Thanks in advance.
