Is it possible to cut clips in VLC on Mac OSX (uh.. 10.4.6)? And possibly transcode them from divx .avis into .dv format? If it's not, what is your utility of choice?

Song: Tourniquet by Evanescence
Fandom: The Watcher (Keanu Reeves and James Spader, 2000)
Size: 18.3MB
Link: The Watcher

Summary: This was one of those really intensive twenty four hour projects that I've been wanting to do for ages. James Spader's neurotic, damaged, migraine suffering detective and Keanu Reeves' cold as ice yet strangely appealing serial killer make a bizarre combination, but their onscreen relationship is what drives this film; Reeves, as Griffin, sums it up perfectly during the film's gripping climax when he says "We need each other." This is a video that explores that need - can definitely be taken as slash, but also as a kind of character study. And the boys are pretty too. ;)

CAUTION: Contains one brief scene of drug injection.

Would love any feedback for this one, thanks :)

Is there a way to see links to every vid I've downloaded from amv.org? Not just the ones I haven't rated yet, but all of them. I could swear I stumbled across just such a page recently, but now I can't find it.

Thanks.

As I'm sure you know, we keep falling behind on updating the memories; this community is so active that it becomes difficult for the mods to keep up if we miss even a few days. As a bonus i've been wanting to use this song for quite awhile

I wanted to share information with other vidders about a tool I hadn't seen mentioned anywhere and that I stumbled upon by accident. It's called AVS Video Tools and can be found here: http://www.avsmedia.com/VideoTools/index.aspx and contains 6 separate tools. I haven't really played with most of the tools, but over the past week I've used the hell out of the Video Convertor and I have to say that I am seriously impressed. I'd run into the problem that I'd collected things that other fans have shared (like interviews, behind the scenes stuff, and show announcements) from a lot of places in a lot of different formats, and I wanted to clean them off my pc and burn them to DVD to watch on TV but the mixture of formats was driving me crazy. I tried using my vidding program but lost the audio on those it would convert, and I tried TMPGenc but it didn't like the Xvid codec, and IAMTOO gave me crappy resolution no matter what I tried. Some of the others had such a short duration on their trial versions that I couldn't get a good comparison, or the program was ridiculously expensive. I was pulling out my hair, and then I found AVS Video Tools and it's been all good First, so far, this tool has converted every single video file I've thrown at it without blinking except for Divx. Second, it outputs to a variety of formats including MPEG, AVI, WMV, MOV, RM, MP4, with a variety of settings within each of those. Third, the trial download has full settings - a banner is superimposed over the center of the results, but it doesn't affect the quality of the it. And fourth, it's pretty cheap at $29.95 for a single license.
