It's a big bold Internet - global borders are shrinking. So how do you jointly vid when vidders are far apart geographically?

Issue 1: Technical. How to share project files when you have the same software. Ex. Final Cut Pro. Adobe Premiere.

Issue 2: Technical: What if you don't have the same video editing software. Or one of you has no software? Should you have one person control the project file (think of a master word document - Vidder A proposes changes in a draft word document and Vidder B types them into the master.) These proposed changes could be offered in an phone call, e-mail or even in a mock-up video file using a different software program.

Issue 3: Conceptual: How to communicate changes? In person or e-mail? Which is best?

Issue 4: Conceptual: How to identify the clips you want and the edits you want ("use that clip where his hand goes up for the gun and his partner's face turns pale. Then cut out right afterwards to a new clip where the woman is running down the hall. Have that cut happen on the third beat.")

Issue 5: Conceptual: Dependent/Dynamic Changes. How to handle the fact that some changes are dynamic. Ex. You send an e-mail with 20 proposed changes. One of those changes results in the following: If you move Clip A to the next stanza where you already have Clip B, you have to decide what to do with Clip B. Replace or shift. If you shift Clip B down -this in turn will change the rest of the clips in the stanza.

Issue 6: Conceptual: Tracking Rounds of Edits. Back to the 20 changes you send. Each change can result in more changes. How not to get lost in the maze of edits.

Issue 7: Any other suggestions? Tips?

PS. This could also be a panel idea - but note, due to health reasons, I cannot volunteer for it. So feel free to grab this idea and run with it.

In the meantime, any and all tips appreciated.

Okay, in the greater scheme of vidding tech problems, this is a piddly little thing, but it's driving me crazy.

I work in Premiere 6.0. I usually have the Video Effects window and the Effect Controls window open, next to the Monitor window, Project window and Timeline. All these windows have a little stripey triangle on the right bottom corner, to signify that you can click on it and drag the window into a different shape - smaller, wider, whatever works best.

This works fine on all the windows except, recently, for the Video Effects and the Effects Controls window. I can click, but I can't drag or change the window shape in any way. They are both tiny, which means I have to scroll endlessly to find the effect I want. ARGH. Can anyone help?

Title: Alone and Colder
Vidder: Anne ([livejournal.com profile] starsouls1013)
Song: "No More Good Guys" by Skindive
Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Seasons 3 and 4)
Character: Faith POV, with focus on her relationship with Buffy
Summary: Faith struggles internally between self-hate and a sense of betrayal by Buffy.
Disclaimer: Joss owns them. Obviously. I grovel at Joss’s feet for giving me this kind of material to work with.
Feedback: Is my bread and water. Seriously. I'd really love to know what you think!
A/N: I was really trying to say something about Faith with this video, about her inner turmoil and her complexity, so I think for a real understanding of this vid, you need to listen to the lyrics as you watch. It’s told from Faith’s mindset after the season four episode "Who Are You".
