Hey! I recently made two Harry Potter vids and thought I should share them.

Freakin' Codecs...

Codecs seem to be the bane of my video/computer existence.

Over the past couple of years, I seemed to have finally reached a point where I could play all of the clips that I have (and most, if not all, formats that I encountered).

Unfortunately, I had to wipe my drive and re-install Windows. Now I can barely play anything again.

I still had the installers for a few Codec packs, but not only do they not handle every format, but they seem to also be conflicting with each other, in some way.

Some video clips report that the required Codec was not found (but give no clue as to what is needed), others simply say that they can't be played (even though I used to be able to play them), and some have video with no sound (and others have sound and no video).

Plus, since installing the Codec packs, some clips are "flipped" upside-down. Some are always "flipped", but others play fine and are only "flipped" when I load them into my video editor (ArcSoft Showbiz, which was bundled with my DVD burner).

I'm pretty computer-savvy for most things, but I'm very new to vidding (in fact, I was attempting to make my very first fan video), and I'm finding this all to be terribly frustrating.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!

Music Vid Celebration! (FIXED)

I got Edit Studio 5.0 Pro for a graduation present! >^,,^< So now that I've got it unlocked, I exported all the videos I've completed and decided to share! =D If you experience any problems, please let me know. And I especially appreciate feedback on my vids if you can a moment to drop me a line. =) I've uploaded the vids onto GigaShare.com and you have the choice of watching the video embedded on the webpage or downloading the file. now hosted on megaupload.com--not zipped, I apologize

EDIT: The links have been edited now so that things should work. The files are *.mov for Quicktime and should be playable by just about anyone. Unfortunately, after spending a few hours trying to figure out how to make the file size smaller, I could not figure it out! (Grrr....) So although the files are "compressed" as *.mov's and I really shrunk the dimensions, the file sizes are... *coughs* huge. If you know what's up and how I can fix this, pleaseohplease let me know! Thanks for all your patience.

One last note--I've been requested to do a Wolverine/Cyclops video (movie verse) and am having trouble coming up with a song...recommendations?

Notes: I'd heard of this song many times through various challenges in the past for fics... and then I finally downloaded some of Poe's songs and I had to agree that this would make an interesting vid for tDZ. =) I focused mostly on the mythology episodes. (Some Johnny/Sarah, Stillson, Purdy, Armaggedon)

Notes: I'm really addicted to Aimee Mann's music right now, especially "Wise Up" and "Save Me" from the Magnolia soundtrack, so once I played around a bit, I was able to come with this vid. (Whee!) I believe this is the vid that has a few Johnny/Bruce moments; there's also Rebecca.
