Adobe Premiere Pro Question

vidding_livejournal_ark2Hi! I am currently in the process of making a vid but I am having some trouble importing the majority of my clips. I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 for the Mac and all of the videos I have are .WMV files. I tried converting them to .AVI but and error message keeps appearing every time I do that says "Unsupported Compression in File". If anyone could help me out with this issue, I would really appreciate it, thanks!
