It just tells you how long I've been away that I forgot to announce the new video here last night!
I decided to save a book from my childhood by digitizing it. Thought it wouldn't take long. Obviously, I was wrong. I now have up a site for turn of the 20th century nudes. It belonged to my grandmother when she came to Chicago to study at the Art Institute before she met grandfather. Then it was mother's when she was a fine arts major at University of Chicago. Finally, it's mine. But it's falling apart so much that I can't find a single reference to the book or the author on the web. So now there is. There's 200 pages of the art from the book, and 125 pages about the artists. And some pages of my favorite pictures. It was also an experiment in what's the best way to put up an art book. I tried 4 different navigation approaches, and I think the chapter way of navigating turned out to be the clearest and easiest to use for research.

There's a lot of pointers to the other work of these artists, as well as contemporary articles about them.

40 years ago I graduated college in History of Art, and this is the first time I've dived back into the topic, and it was simply wonderful. I do intend to make some music videos with the art. Best place to get work by these artists? Dirty French post card dealers. Bizarre!
Best, Mary
