What is the best program to use (i.e. will yield the highest possible quality) to convert .wmv files (without using WMM) to:
- .avi
- .mov

I am using Windows XP and Windows 2000 Professional.

You don't mention which platform you're using -- Mac, PC, Linux, etc. Anyhow, I've had good results from ffmpegX on Mac, and I suspect that the PC equivalent is also good. With some tweaking, it should be able to convert a large number of formats with good quality results.
