Oh, you've read my mind... the idea for an Anck-su-Namun/Imhotep mvid has been floatin' about for a while (mainly a complete do-over of the mvid for Mummy Returns).

Downloading now!

Speaking of Mummy Returns, do you happen to have that mvid -- Live's "Forever May Not Be Long Enough"? I've rented the dvd, hoping to rip it, but my ripper won't allow it (grr....). Any help would totally be loved.... Will review your vid when it finishes downloading! ^_^ So can't wait to see it!

That would be so great if you could succeed! 'Twould totally indebt me to ya. Schuld ist Schuld ist zurückgezahlt geschuldet, mein freund. {A debt owed is a debt repayed}.

92% complete! ... 94!

I really enjoyed this vid! It's well-edited and you used the dynamics in the music beautifully. I also liked how clear the narrative structure was - you got a really good feel for the movie from this vid. Well done!

No matter how I watch Anck-su-Namun and Imhotep's first scene together, be it vid or movie form, I get chills. It's such a doomed love... so very sad and tragic. Sure, Imhotep has to kill a few guys here and there. Big deal, sez I. ;)

I know nothing of Pinnacle (I use Adobe After Effects and Windows Movie Maker) but, were it possible, I do suggest stretching or cropping the clip so the subtitles do not appear. Even though I've viewed the opening scene many times, the eyes are still drawn to subtitles or anything similar which pops up. This isn't such a good thing with the rate you were cutting; in the time it took the person's eyes to go to the subtitle, it was gone, so the eyes go next to view the entire clip, then another subtitle which is gone in a split second, then back to the clip... see what I'm saying? Just a good tip for ya.

I think after the initial opening scene, you lose focus of the song and seem more keen upon a summar of the movie. The scenes of Rick's escape, Evie's discovery, their first kiss (great matching to 'Breathe into me', I must admit!), Evie and Rick's dock conversation... all flies by so quickly that, had I not viewed this movie obsessively many times with all three commentaries a couple of times, I'd be lost. Great use of cutting around the scenes (clips...scenes... *digs up a thesaurus*) yet the cuts go by very, very quickly.

BENI!!! ...Sorry. Can't helpt but squee whenever I see that lil weasel. (I think he's cute... er, right, back to vid review... *ahem*)

Wonderful concept, mein freund, the use of this song to the pairing... I think using footage from 'The Mummy Returns' would have helped it immensely as would using clips only of Imhotep and Anck-su-Namun. Savvy?

I just liked leaving in how their situation is explained in rapid word form, heh.
This is a nice creative decision on your part. The only fault lies in the rapid movement of clips; perhaps slowed down enough for one to read what is said (ya know, at least to those who don't know every word by heart... like me ^^) it would've worked perfectly.

Beni is yes, damn funny, hehe, and Ardeth Bay is cool!
In one of my very, very first attempts at serious slash (heeey... say THAT three times fast!), I once attempted to, ya know, slash these two. Don't know why. Call it one of my Obscure Pairings with a Fandom of One.

....*bats away the vid*bunny for such a pairing*

imagine how daunting the thought of vidding for my fave shows is
No need ;) I'm doin' a vid for House M.D. (see it if you haven't) and, what's worse, one of the more obscure of the pairings: Dr. House/Dr. Chase. Started out silly, then with a single line from a single ep which aired one or two weeks ago, it all took on a seriously angsty edge. Oy...damn bunny with their damn ideas. They're killer, aren't they? ;) Le vid should be posted by tomorrow. I'm determined that it will be.

Ooh...thanks for the rip! Would request highest-quality-avi...but I'm no position to request at all, ja? Whatev you give me, I'll be totally grateful. Any rips I can do for ye, jus' let me know.

Aye, Ardeth/Beni. The summary of that long-loooong-lost fic was, if I can remember it correctly, Ardeth rescues Beni.... or the latter doesn't die, just is abandoned outside the temple. (Oh, dammit, just thinking about the fic spurs up the ideas...) What think you of the pairing?

My ripper wouldn't open all the titles... the movie, of course, the behind-the-scenes thing, and the trailers... and that's it. I use ImTOO DvD Ripper... a crack version, o'course. I only use that for my ripping purposes; I rip straight to divx-avi... Quick Q: what's the diff between xvid and divx?

I'll see how it works in the editor and After Effects. Thanks again!! Much love for yous right now.

Yay, techyness ^^ Sorry for lateness in reply; ya know how much time flies when one is vidding.

it's only 36mb. In 640x480 for DivX, (same audio) it's 124mb!
Not so weird, really. I think it's all about compression. For instance, in my Broadcast Graphics class (college course; the main project was a mock-newscast) we created the file in After Effects. After rendering, it came out to be 2gb! (It was only a minute!). Taking that 2gb avi into Premiere and resaving makes the avi out to be 200. Our prof said it was because of After Effects exporting without any compression to the file. So what ya get is SUPER HIGH QUALITY at the expense of one's hard drive, o'course.

becuz its too agonizing to mess with them since they just reset everytime.
Hmmm...now that is really, really odd. If one sets their preferences and such, it should -stay- that way until one changes them. The program resetting itself is quite a mystery.

Never even considered it, but now thinking of it makes me giggle
I hope in a good way, at least ^^; Might have to drabble these damn ideas out... least if I want to get -any- sleep...

Aye... time is a trickster, ain't it? Ya glance at it one moment, and the next time ya view it, an hour has passed. Time flies when you're arguing with ideas and -attempting- to organize them.

Ernest Saves X-Mas as a vid, eh? Iiiiinteresting. What song might ye be thinkin' of using?

*clickies gift happily* Yay for high-speed! Should have it in five minutes.

Heh... I'm sorta the opposite with songs. Anytime I even acquire a new song, I tend to listen to it at least twenty times over the course of the day. I've no idea why... I just do.

when after all he has gone thru for her, she leaves him and tries to save herself.
She does?? I've watched most of the second movie recently, though not all of it (no worries about spoilage.. I've seen it many times over; revisiting for nostalgia sake). Now, that seems -completely- against her entire character. By the end, she's no longer Meela as, if I'm correct, she kills herself in revisiting her past and he then resurrects Anck-su-Namun (man, when I watched that scene a few days ago, I was entirely spell-bound...the score, emotion, editing, EVERYTHING just blew me away!) Why she'd abandon her love makes no sense to me...

Random tidbit: I obsess over every. single. frame. when editing my vids. That's 30 per second!
So feel ya on this one. I test my vids constantly; MM isn't very good for the in-program previews, so I save it to the highest quality, then watch it in the player. Many times; at the minimum of thrice. Everyhing has to look just RIGHT before I move on. The downside to this is that I become so used to seeing clips in certain areas that it's difficult to notice mistakes. *shrug*

I haven't seen "House" but that guy looks so much like the creepy dude from "MadTV", lmao.
They did a spoof on that... wasn't very good, though.

Courtesy of a community that dare not speak its name, I give you the {unaired} Pilot episode (http://unextendable.com/house/100%20-%20Unaired%20Pilot.mpeg) (right click-save as). The coloring for the first ep is very.... sun-kissed, I suppose you could say. It's only for this ep, though.

The difference between unaired Pilot and aired? Not much... just a cane-grabbing scene and a bit with the ducklings (the three experts working for Dr. House which was moved to the second ep).

A word of caution: The show is an illness, an infectious disease. The only cure is also the only symptom. ;)

I await your thoughts of the ep.

Evy goes to help Rick, and there's this big moment where A makes a choice whether to go save Im and she gets scared and doesn't... Im's face as she left is all gah!sadness and that's when he lets go, right after giving Rick a look like, how lucky Evy came back for him, risking her life (again)...
Oh, that ending is --so-- getting rewatched. If it's as you say, it's so fuckin' PERFECT for this idea I have. Ah...angst. So loved.

From a character standpoint, though... still makes me icky with the mere -idea- she'd leave him. Bad way for the secondary villain of the movie (though I never thought of him as such) to go out.

By the by, I must thank ye once more for the excellent rip. So perfect! A few tv-lines 'round the edges...but nothin' a lil soft focus couldn't fix.

Random trivia: Just for kicks, I imported the vid into After Effects then exported it out -- doing nothing to the vid -- just to see the file size. It was, and I'm not kidding, 6.72 GB. The vid was so laggy, though, I doubt I could've used it for editing purposes.
