Vidding Glossary

After creating individual Fanlore pages for a few of the Vividcon premiering vids, I thought we might want to start building up the vidding glossary. Terms like "recruiter vid" and "garbage can vid" have already been defined. I've thought of a few more terms, but would love to include more.

When thinking of glossary terms, imagine explaining terms to someone not familiar with vidding. The list so far:
  • glossary term for VJ
  • glossary term for "con vid" and "living room vid"
  • glossary term/history for "vid review"
  • glossary term for "joxer dance"
  • glossary term for "talking heads"
  • glossary term for "dirty frame"

I don't know what some of the above are. :P

What about things like "flappy mouth" or "talking heads"?
Or "clip residue" is one we used to bandy about the forums I was on.
"Crack!vid"?

Oh SVS was the one that used "clip residue". I believe Kayla (aka pixie on acid or pixie) coined it. It was when you accidentally leave a few frames of the next clip and you see a little flash in the final product or you leave too much of the clip over hanging and it's like there's another image there for a bit, but it's overlaying the next clip.

I used to just call it a flash or an overhang. But clip residue caught on big time at SVS (Supernatural Video Station). Poor forum went poof a couple of years ago, but now there's ETV (Expanding the Verse (http://expandingtheverse.com/forum)) and most of the people that hung out in a big way at SVS moved to there, so terms live on. :)

Great! I'll let the ETV mods know. They'll be tickled by that. :D

Oh will do. Poor forum has been a little quiet of late, so we're discussing some recruitment options. :D

Thank you!
