ASPI/SmartRipper

I'm trying to figure out what software I need to download to start experimenting with vidding. I already have WMM and I've downloaded SmartRipper - but I've read I need to install an ASPI layer? I have no idea what it is, or even where to get one.

What do I need to be able to rip successfully?

Can anyone help me out?

It'll probably pop up a warning, but you can just hit ok and ignore it. Or you should be able to anyway. Everyone else I've known who's used it has. :)

i use "no 1 dvd ripper", it has everything you need already so i cant reall help sorry

there are guides to start vidding at [livejournal.com profile] xf_fanfilm, including resources, freeware, and other software you will find useful. There are also guides to using various ripping software.
