Joining or Fusing two .rm or .wmv files?

I am at my wit's end. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro 7, and I created a 03:40 minute video using a mixture of XVID and DivX encoded clips. These days I prefer to compress my clips using XVID. However, my program has a problem with (apparently) the XVID clips, and will change them into a blank screen. This problem is easily fixed by restarting the program, since it doesn't start doing it until about 15 minutes after I start using the program.

However, now I am trying to finalize my video, and I've tried just about every encoding format, and always at around 02:54 minutes, the screen starts turning blank.

So now I'm thinking, what if I just cut my video in half, and encode the two parts separately, and then fuse them together using some kind of software? Any ideas on software that can "join" or "fuse" high quality .wmv or .rm files? Thanks in advance.

WMM help!

Oh. My. Gosh. WMM just froze and when I got back into it, not only did I lose some of my work, the timeline has collapsed or something! It used to be really long and now it's short (the physical length), and it's impossible to edit the timing by dragging the clips, like I used to be able to. I don't know if that makes any sense. Does anyone know how to extend the timeline again?

(Putfile doesn't seem to be allowing uploads, so I'm using megaupload.)

compressing wmv

So I created a copy of my video using Premiere, and to maintain quality, I used WMM 9 NSTC 1024 K download, and the video resulted in a 200 MB file. How do I reduce that size further?

Song/Artist: Twenty Years by Placebo
Duration: 3:23 minutes

Summary: A shipper vid exploring the relationship between Alexander and Hephaistion, set against the epic battles that they have faced and the trials and tribulations that they have encountered. This is the remastered version of an original vid I made in July 2005, mainly to produce a high-quality version for download, but there are minor changes to content also. Canon slash (non-graphic), war scenes.
Spoilers: The whole film, possibly more if you've only seen the Director's Cut (i.e. the short version - this vid is sourced from the theatrical release), but I can't comment on that as I haven't seen it myself.

Zipped WMV 8.48MB, zipped MPEG-1 27.48MB.

Feedback is very much appreciated. :)
