Aspect Ratio challenged
Okay, I will freely admit it. I have trouble telling when the aspect ratio is wrong, unless it's on a big screen. When it's on my laptop, it all looks pretty much the same to me. So I am seeking to have my eyesight re-educated, and now is a good time as I'm finishing up two vids and starting two others.
EDIT - Since there was some question about the original aspect ratio of the Highlander clip, I've substituted a Sentinel one.
SO: the Sentinel DVD is 4:3 aspect ratio. Following instructions from the tutorials on the Foolish Passion board, I converted the ripped files to uncompressed AVI format using FlashMpeg, keeping the 720x480 size that the original was in, just using the Deinterlace option. Original AVI I understand from the tutorial that these may look a little off but that my vid editor would fix that. (semi-puzzled look)
So I put the clip in Ulead MedisStudio and exported two versions of it, both with the 4:3 aspect ratio:
Test640
Test720
And I can tell that they are different, but for the life of me, I can't tell which one is supposed to be correct - or if both of them are wrong.
Thanks for the help!
