Flipping clips/Horizontal Mirror in ULEAD

I'm using ULEAD Video Studio 11 at the moment (it could be a short lived affair)  - Does anyone know how to flip a clip horizontally?  I can see that  you can rotate 90 /180 degrees etc but not flip it.

I can bodge around the problem it by putting into WMM and flipping but I'd like to find out if it is possible in ULEAD first.

Any help much appreciated.

I still have Ulead VS 10 Plus, and I know flipping a clip there isn't possible, so I guess it's not possible in 11 either. :(

i'm using version 10+, which is very smiliar to yours & i'm pretty sure it's impossible - like you, i just flip the clips in wmm.

...but if you ever find out how to do it, i'd love to know :D

Totally understandable. When I found out that you could flip a clip in WMM but not in Ulead, I was quite surprised AND annoyed. (I started out vidding with Ulead and have moved to Vegas since.)

ETA: But hey, Ulead is STILL an awesome program, and I have gone back to it on occasion for some of the cool things you can do with it that you can't with Vegas. :D

FX Bench is a Ulead plugin that allows for flipping horizontally.

After you dl it, you have to move a particular file into Ulead (it's been years since I did this, but I believe the instructions are on the website).

When you're in Ulead, when you view "Filters", FXbench should show up. Add that to your clip, hit "Customize" and scroll down to "Flip Horizontally" and you should be golden.

"instructions for using FXbench with VS10. The following info comes via email directly from the developer, Stefan Burger:

I just tested FXbench with the trial version of VideoStudio 10 and it works perfectly. The reason why the message 0 compatible Ulead product found appears might be because you installed VS 10 not to the default directory. Usual the installation path of VS is like... C:\Programme\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\vft_plug ...while 禅rogramme is localized and can be different like 萪rogram Files. However, the installer scans the path c:\\Ulead Systems for all subfolder with the name vft_plug and installs a copy of Fxbench.vft to them. If your installation path of VS 10 is totally different (maybe even on a different drive) this procedure will fail and you have to copy the Fxbench.vft file manually from your Fxbench installation folder to the vft_plug folder of your VS 10 installation. But this behaviour is not specific for VS 10, but is valid for all versions of VS.
Regards, Stefan"

Glad to help.

I had this same question several years ago. Sometimes I still need to import the clip in question to WMM when the FXbench "Flip Horizontal" filter causes the clip to go diagonal, and it does tend to bog down the editor on playback before rendering. But it's livable, and more convenient than opening up another program.
