I've always had infinite problems with Windows Movie Maker, but for some reason could never break free of our abusive relationship.

But I haven't been able to resolve our latest catastrophe, and I think it's time for me to move on to a like-minded program where I can resume this vicious cycle.

Does anyone know of a video editing program that operates simply and similar to Windows Movie Maker? I have Sony Vegas, but I find it far too complicated, and the other programs I've tried weren't anything like WMM.

There's Pinnacle and Ulead. I've only test Pinnacle before years ago, but I don't remember exactly how it was like. Sony Vegas is actually not that difficult to adjust to. I figured out how to work it in one day of playing in it, but who am I to talk when my first editing program was Adobe Premiere and not WMM.

I went through this with a friend recently, and we couldn't find any programs that work exactly like WMM. But then...that program is so flawed, it might be a good idea to step away from it entirely.

I'd urge you to Sony Vegas another try, as there are a ton of people working on it who turn out some amazing work.

I've played around on WMM, but never produced anything on it. I learned on Premiere Elements (which I didn't find difficult), then moved on to Premiere Pro.

I found the transition from WMM to Premiere Elements an easy one. There are some differences, but the learning curve isn't steep, and it's a good balance of intuitiveness and power.

I went straight from WMM to Sony Vegas, and it didn't take me more than a couple of days to learn the basics. And after that, you learn as you make your vids. Now I'd never wanna be without it.

I didn't even use WMM. I jumped right into Vegas. I'm still playing around with it, but I haven't found it completely difficult.

I'm not entirely sure as I've only had limited experience with it, but I remember Ulead as being somewhat similar to WMM in terms of how everything is presented.

I also recommend persevering with Vegas, if you have it already. There are LOADS of really good tutorials on YouTube for it, right from real basics to pro techniques. Just go to YouTube and search under Vegas Tutorials. Good luck!

I use Magix VideodeLuxe, since I´m obviously to stupid to use Premiere Pro, it just won´t work for me.
Magix isn´t exactly like Windows Movie Maker, but it´s pretty easy to use.

I *highly* recommend Ulead. I transitioned from WMM to Ulead without any problems.
