The two guides I linked are the best I've found. Unfortunately they're the type to make your head explode. The AviSynth subforum at Doom9 (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=33) might be helpful, but I didn't use it as a newbie so I don't know how accessible their guides are.

The best advice I can give is to start small. Try and see if you can get something to at least import into Premiere. Once you've got that down you can create more complex scripts as the need arises.
