Aye, which IIRC, taps into the history of vid watching. I think folk mentioned vids originally started as 'background' and the [preferred] editing style leaned toward non-complex... Hm, the QL vid to Oh Boy was one example. However, it seems nowadays technology and vidding evolution/trends are leaning more toward complex and 'background' watching is more difficult with these types of vids, IMO, especially as a viewer that's been 'spoiled' with VividCon's dedication to vids and vid watching. So, WinCon was a "culture shock".

I've never attended BASCon. Last SF-ish convention I've attended was FrisCon and I remember it being like Escapade, at the time, in that it was a 'theater' experience... but on a large TV with VCR 'jockeys' back then. {g}
